The confederate flag does symbolize hate! The Confederates wanted to secede from the union because they wanted to use slaves and treat African Americans as animals. Not a full person! The confederate states where made because in the new expansion laws Slavery was banned. They felt that it was a violation of their rights. That is when they broke away from the Union. Which is why the war started! Because they broke away because they wanted to keep slaves and not see African Americans as Human beings! You have to realise this happend during the Antebellum period. The south was dominated by Plantation style living. If you had a Plantation you were a big shot. You controlled so much. How were plantations kept running? SLAVES!! Meanwhile the North was just advancing faster technology wise etc. This made it difficult for the south to have its 2 cents in the national government. Remember most people in the power to voice opinion in the southern government where slave owners. Which is where the Slaveocracy came about to denounce their power. Eventually the North said slavery was evil and not moral. The South said slavery is a benefit to Blacks. Please tell me how getting beat with a whip because you passed out is a benefit to blacks? So the south was like alright since you don’t wanna let me keep my slaves and take away my wealth I am leaving. Then the war started with the attack on Fort sumter.
So yes the confederate flag means hate because it is a symbol to the south leaving because they wanted to keep there slaves!
